"Guitar Hero - Metallica" Released Last Night !

The latest installment in the Guitar Hero franchise has been released last night, this time the game has the metalest edge to it, its the Metallica Edition!

You'll get the chance to play 28 of Metallica's thrash filled songs (well you get music from all the Era's thrash and not so thrash) while you'll get to rock out to another 21 songs by some of the legends in the Heavy Metal scene. The songs featured by other bands on the game, are supposedly "hand picked" by Metallica.

Or atleast most of the bands on the game have been influential in some way towards Metallica, or have been influenced by Metallica.

Alright here's the game's trailer:

First time I watched that trailer I was like hmm, this will definitely kick the Aerosmith version's ass right out of the park.

GHM includes alot of great music from a wide variety of bands, from the likes of Mercyful Fate, Mastodon, Machine Head, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Slayer, System Of Down and alot more. It is being said that Lars actually pushed for Slayer to be on the game, while they had trouble finding the Masters for Mercyful Fate's "Evil" and "Curse Of The Pharoah's" (curse ended up not being used) so King Diamond brought the band together again without Kim Kuzz and they re-recorded the tracks for the game.

Metallica decided to film an AD for the game with College Basket coaches Bob Knight, 'Coach K,' Rick Pitino and Roy Williams.

I'm a sucker for explosions and this commercial has an awesome one in it, this is the follow up AD:

James' thinks this is a great step for a kid who wants to "speak through music", Lars talks while throwing his hands around as usual, sounding all Larsy, Kirk is well... Kirk.

Here's a little behind the scenes clip"

All in all this game sounds killer, and the track list is beyond awesome, featuring a great selection of songs from Metallica's discography, from Kill Em All all the way to Death Magnetic... I'll end this post with IGN's video review so you can get a better idea about the game.
